Website
Sorry we've been a bit quiet lately. As you may have noticed we've been upgrading our website and getting to grips with a different email system. We hope the new website will keep you entertained and informed about what's going on in Caravan Gallery World. We'll be adding more images to the Photo Gallery as we go along so it's worth visiting regularly.
2010 Update
Highlights of 2010 include appearances at the Bath Fringe Festival and a couple of outings to Liverpool for Liverpool Biennial. We supplemented our city centre residency at the Bluecoat with a tour taking in Norris Green, Asda on Smithdown Rd and Garston market, all unlikely but very entertaining caravanning locations. We hope to develop further projects in both regions in future. Our participation in the 'Cameras in the Community' symposium organised by Fotonow at Plymouth Arts Centre (with Camper Obscura, Daniel Meadows, Val Williams, Pete James and David Chandler) is likely to lead to some Devonian activity. It's only a matter of time before a silly little caravan and a camera obscura in a campervan get up to mischief on Dartmoor!
Coming up in 2011

Panasonic, who provide us with Lumix cameras, have invited us to exhibit our photos at the NEC in Birmingham this year. Look out for a small mustard caravan on the Panasonic stand at Focus on Imaging 2011 from 6th - 9th March. Hopefully we can help them retain the 'Best Stand' award they won last year.

We'll be Caravanning in Peel Precinct, South Kilburn, London on Saturday 26th March as part of a celebration day at Workshop 24 organised by the Empty Shops Network.

Our first gallery exhibition of the year will be the 'Pride of Place Project' at Space Gallery, University of Portsmouth, mid April - mid May. The aim is to create a pyschogeographical survey examining people’s relationship with place based on our own observations and those of our visitors. We'll be touring the project around Britain and beyond creating place-specific exhibitions with the involvement of local people in each area. We plan to adopt a similar approach for our 'Kunst & Zwalm' residency in Belgium this Autumn.

We are making proposals and hatching plans for several more projects during the year and will update the website as they are confirmed.

Stop press: we've been invited to take The Caravan Gallery to the Guernsey Photography Festival in June! Apparently caravans aren't allowed on Guernsey but we'll tell them we're a gallery not a caravan. This year's theme is 'Identity' and other invited guests include Martin Parr, Eugene Richards, Richard Billingham and Tony Ray Jones (retrospective).
Publications
We're currently working on our next book, 'The Caravan Gallery : Australian Journey', a compilation of images showing Australia from a Caravan Gallery persepective. If you like our 'Is Britain Great?' books you'll love this!
