Every week we receive so many great comments and questions from listeners to Stand Up for the Truth. We'll get to as many as we can today!
Question of the week: What are your thoughts on the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) having Nancy Pelosi speak to Christian college leaders recently?
A few responses: "one of the many reasons I no longer call myself Evangelical," "What could she even remotely bring of value to a discussion?" "That's like having an atheist preach from the pulpit," and "I think the NAE needs to share the gospel with Nancy Pelosi and the importance of repentance and obeying God's Word."
We also share a stirring testimony from a Christian woman that had an abortion years ago and kept it to herself. Now after all this time she has received the forgiveness and healing of Jesus, and has been encouraging the body of Christ to stop being silent on this pivotal issue.
We also discuss:
Home churches: when is it time to consider leaving your seeker-sensitive or unbibilcal church?
What has happened to rational, respectful debate and dialogue?
Pastors that rarely ever preach on the Old Testament
What does it mean to enter into the rest of God, Hebrews 4?

Supporting Deception by Our Silence
Feb 21, 2019 07:04 am | Stand Up For The Truth | Comments
What people need now is more clarity and less confusion. Media, government and public education continue to push an agenda clouded in moral relativism, appealing to our desires and emotions but short on facts and reality. A political example would be the “New Green Deal” being advanced by Democratic presidential candidates. It sounds wonderful, but it glosses over the potential destruction it could bring to our economy and government infringement on our way of life.
What we all need is more clarity and less confusion. For Christians, we need church leaders who are clear about the Word and doctrines of God, leaders who stand strong against the deception of the enemy. But instead of clarity we seem to be getting neutrality, silence, or double speak from too many Christian leaders in America.
Pastor Mike Abendroth of No Compromise Radio joins us to discuss how and why the church must bring biblical clarity in the midst of confusion and equip believers to do ministry and be light in a dark world.

All Aboard the Globalism Express
Feb 20, 2019 10:09 am | Stand Up For The Truth | Comments
The Bible warns us that globalism is inevitable and that one day the world will be united in purpose. But that purpose is to defy God and worship Satan through his puppet, Anti-Christ. This march toward globalism comes in many colors including politics, environmental issues, population control, and centralized governmental authority. It is being propagated regularly through academia and national media.
Christians are called to be unique and set apart from this world, but even increasingly in many churches we see a progressive worldview rearing its ugly head as some churches are so enamored with being seen as loving and tolerant by the world that even the precepts of God are set aside. The mantra of American Christianity seems to be how we can better fit into the world instead of being light to a dark world.
Today we look at the subtle and not so subtle ways globalist thinking is affecting everything from politics to national security, to how we conduct “church” these days. Gary Kah of Hope For the World has researched and written about the coming one world government and religion for more than 25 years. His early books were a clarion warning to the creeping globalism we now see being openly promoted in almost every institution in our world, including a growing number of Christian Churches.

My Shepherd and a Weeping Prophet
Feb 19, 2019 08:49 am | Stand Up For The Truth | Comments
Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute and Silver Birch Ranch joins us to discuss two crucial men and lessons from the Old Testament that are important for believers these days.
First, we look at the "weeping prophet" Jeremiah: a man called by God to bring a warning to God's people and call them to repentance only to be beaten, tortured and ignored.
And we look at Dave's new book titled My Shepherd Psalm 23, a children's book that brings the assurance that our shepherd, Jesus Christ, will always protect us and never abandon us.

An Unclear Battle Cry from Church Leadership
Feb 18, 2019 07:03 am | Stand Up For The Truth | Comments
Make no mistake: as Christians we are at war with this world. No, we do not use the world's weapons or tactics, but Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10 that we have divine (spiritual) weapons able to to destroy arguments and lofty opinions of this world that are opposed to God and truth.
But many are wondering why a growing number of church leaders are not calling and equipping believers to fight this crucial spiritual battle for the eternal souls of our friends and neighbors. Where are the leaders rallying, challenging, and equipping Christians for this battle? We seem intent on looking more and more like the world we are supposed to win to Christ.
Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project joins us to talk about the crucial need for church and family leadership in these days of growing confusion and evil.
