Resident On Call is a new AMWA program that brings together AMWA's resident and medical student divisions. Every month, an AMWA resident will be taking questions from all AMWA medical students. All questions will be screened and those chosen for "Resident On Call" will be answered through the AMWA blog.
May's Resident On Call is: Marissa Orenstein
Marissa Orenstein is excited to be AMWA's first Resident On Call! Marissa just graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and is beginning her intern year in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is the immediate past president of AMWA's National Medical Student Division and currently serves as AMWA's resident recruitment chair. Marissa is also a member of AOA, Phi Beta Kappa and the Iron Arrow Honor Society. She will be starting her intern year on June 11th, so for now the best questions would be targeted toward the application process, externships, traveling for interviews, and selecting your top programs. She would be happy to check in later in the year once she has some "expertise" all that an intern year in pediatrics entails!
