Media Literacy Week is a national initiative, with many different ways to participate both in-person and virtually! Events across Canada include:

You can also participate online by:
  • joining the #MLWChat Twitter Chat on Makers & Creators, with collaborators and educators from across Canada on Tuesday, November 1 from 7-8 PM EST
  • joining the #K12Media Twitter Chat for a discussion with K-12 media teachers On Wednesday, November 2 from 8-9 PM EST
  • following #MedLitWeek and MediaSmarts and the Canadian Teachers' Federation on Twitter

Collaborator Highlight: Maker Kids

Maker Kids is the first and largest makerspace for kids in the world and runs programs, camps, and parties on topics like Coding, Minecraft, 3D Printing, Videogame Programming with Scratch, Robotics Inventions using Arduino, and Remote Control Robotics. Their goal is to help kids, ages 8-12, move beyond being consumers of digital media to becoming creators.
