Gresham College updates for August 2012
News from Gresham College

Although there are no free public lectures coming up in August, we are still working away hard here at Gresham College. We thought this might be a good time to tell you some of the things that have happened, or are about to happen, here at the College...

Announcement of the future events
The printed programme is currently with the printers and we hope that it will arrive on everyone's doorsteps within to next few weeks.
If you are not already signed up the the mailing list to receive the programme, you can do so here.

We will not publish all the events online until the programme is printed, but we are already releasing information about many future events on our website. There are currently over 80 free public lectures already there and available to be viewed: Future Gresham College lectures and events.

In a dusty forgotten corner of Barnard's Inn we recently uncovered a number of cases full of audio cassettes of lectures from the 1980's and early 1990's. They have now all been transferred into a digital form and they will be released online over the coming month.

We are also continuining to upload old lecture transcripts which have never been online before. Over recent months we have released over 150 lectures in this way, and we look forward to releasing the other 100 or so online over the coming months.

Connecting with Gresham College elsewhere online
We are justifiably very proud of our Facebook and Twitter pages, which we encourage everyone to visit and follow.
We regularly tweet interesting snippets from the lecture live from within the lecture hall, as well as keeping you up to date on all the news from the College.
As well as the updates and links, our Facebook page also features various pictures from recent talks and from our history, as well as a timeline dating back to 1597, which should give people a better idea of our 415 years of providing lectures.
We also have a Flickr page, where we upload all the pictures that we take at our lectures and events and we encourage you to admire how wonderful and fun our lectures in the past have been, which we hope will inspire you to get very excited about what is coming up in September and beyond!
